Where to go in Trentino for your skiing holiday

For all winter sports lovers, spending an holiday in Trentino Alto Adige is almost mandatory.

San Martino di Castrozza has an important skiing area with 60 km of slopes among the impressive natural landscape the Dolomites offer and it is the perfect place for your skiing holiday in Trentino.

Skiing season usually goes from November to April and, during this time, you can choose the period you prefer to come to the Dolomites on holiday.

The San Martino di Castrozza ski resort has many different types of slopes available, for riders at any level: easy runs for inexperienced skiers and even more thrilling ones featuring sections with varying gradients, more steep to less steep, for the more experienced skiers.
We recommend 5 spectacular runs you cannot miss if you decide to spend your skiing holiday in San Martino di Castrozza.

Tognola Uno

One of the best runs in the Dolomites! It runs for nearly 3 kilometres through the forest of the Tognola Alp and it is perfect if you have been skiing for a while already. The wide slope features many changes in direction and gradient with the final super-fast stretch providing a thrill to the more expert skiers.

Cima Tognola

It is considered a red slope with variations of gradient for a total altitude difference of around 1000 metres. It goes from Cima Tognola to Malga Tognola and it is perfect if you want to ski safely and still have fun.

Colbricon

One of the most panoramic and fun runs of the area. Its main feature, beside the panorama, is the fact that it does not go over a 40% grade level. As a matter of fact it belongs to the “red slopes” category, meaning it is accessible to everyone who passed the beginner level.

Paradiso

The Paradiso slope is located on Passo Rolle, and it is among the “black slopes” of the area reaching a 75% grade level. It is very difficult to ski on if you are not an expert.

Pista Colverde

The Colverde slope is a very famous part of the resort starting from the Cimone peak, passing through the Roseta mount and arriving in the centre of San Martino di Castrozza. If you decide to ski in the San Martino di Castrozza area, this slope is a must. If you love adventure the slope is also open at night: the 2 km run is brightly lit providing an evocative moment for those who decide to go down into the town centre skiing.

Beside skiing activities, to enrich your winter holiday in the best way possible, San Martino di Castrozza has so much more to offer: from excursions into the snowy forests, where you can walk inside the breathtaking landscape of Trentino, to tastings of local products.
